WHO WE ARE
About Family Promise Northern Shenandoah Valley

We are a faith-based, non-profit, registered tax-exempt charitable organization
managed by a volunteer board of directors

We became an affiliate of the nationwide Family Promise network in 2022.
There are currently more than 200 Affiliates in 43 states working to address
the crisis of family housing instability and homelessness.

We serve families with children who are experiencing homelessness and
those who are unstably housed and at imminent risk of becoming homeless.
Program participants MUST have at least one child under the age of 18 living with them.
We accept single females who are pregnant, with or without other children.
We also serve single moms, single dads, two-parent, and grand-parent-led families.

We model the programs and services of the Family Promise Network
Families in our program MUST follow program rules and be committed
to becoming self-sufficient. Family Promise Northern Shenandoah Valley
provides the tools and guidance to help families improve their income,
learn budgeting, household management, and parenting skills.
Case management services and other resources,
are also offered to help them overcome
their housing crisis and maintain housing stability.

The Family Promise program is voluntary, so it is up to the families to put
the tools and guidance into action.
